New exam goes live on May 29, 2020

Achieving Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate certification is the first step in preparing for a career in cybersecurity and cybersecurity operations. To earn CyberOps Associate certification, you pass one exam that covers the fundamentals of cybersecurity operations skills and procedures.

Overview

The new Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate certification program prepares you for today’s associate-level job roles in security operations centers (SOCs). The program has one training course and one exam that covers the foundational skills, processes, and knowledge you need to prevent, detect, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity incidents as part of a SOC team.

CyberOps Associate certification and training covers these topics:

  • Security concepts
  • Security monitoring
  • Host-based analysis
  • Network intrusion analysis
  • Security policies and procedures

New topics include access control models for digital assets, malware analysis and interpretation, identifying protected data, and understanding key SOC metrics to expedite detection and containment of breaches.

Prerequisites

There are no formal prerequisites for CyberOps Associate certification, but you should have an understanding of the exam topics before taking the exam.

Exam Description

The Understanding Cisco Cybersecurity Operations Fundamentals (200-201 CBROPS) exam is a 120-minute assessment that is associated with the Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate certification. The CBROPS exam tests a candidate’s knowledge and skills related to security concepts, security monitoring, host-based analysis, network intrusion analysis, and security policies and procedures. The course, Understanding Cisco Cybersecurity Operations Fundamentals, helps candidates to prepare for this exam.

The following topics are general guidelines for the content likely to be included on the exam. However, other related topics may also appear on any specific delivery of the exam. To better reflect the contents of the exam and for clarity purposes, the guidelines below may change at any time without notice.

Migration to the new program

The Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate certification has replaced the CCNA Cyber Ops certification. Beginning May 29, 2020, Cisco will release an updated, consolidated exam, 200-201 CBROPS, that will replace the current exams (210-250 SECFND and 210-255 SECOPS). And new training, Understanding Cisco CyberSecurity Operations Fundamentals (CBROPS), is coming soon.

Finishing your certification based on the current exams:

  • If you already passed one of the two current exams, keep going. You have until May 28, 2020 to complete your certification using the current exams (210-250 SECFND and 210-255 SECOPS).
  • If you finish certification using the current exams, you will receive the Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate certification and certification badge.

If you held an active CCNA Cyber Ops Associate certification prior to February 24, 2020:

  • You received the Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate certification and certification badge on February 24.

Recertification

CyberOps Associate certification is valid for three years.
